ParagraphUse of colour
We use colour to both differentiate our brand and keep it consistent. The more consistent the use of our colours, the easier people will be able to recognise us as a brand.
ING has selected the colours orange, dark blue, light blue and white, where orange is the dominant colour.
Orange is used for the lion symbol in the logo. The logo should always be reproduced in dark blue and orange.
Light blue is a complementary colour. It is always preferable to use the colour in 100% instead of percentages.
Additional main colours in the corporate design of ING, are not allowed.Additional colours
Medium blue is used only for highlighting text next to a light blue box. Both colours will than appear the same. See the examples on the left.
Percentages of Warm Grey 5 can be used as an additional colour. For instance for background of text blocks. The secondary grey colour will not be used by Wholesale Banking.
PMS colour system
ING colours will be reproduced via Pantone Matching System. Pantone® is a registered trade mark from Pantone INC.
This results in them being reproduced in the best manner and being the least susceptible to colour variations.
Using PMS numbers of the Pantone Matching System for printing material does not always guarantee the same quality of colours. Differences can be caused by:
- Change of texture/composition of the colours within the Pantone Matching System (PMS) world-wide.
- Applied paper quality Pantone Colour Formula Guides can also show differences because of the paper quality used and the year of publication.
The “ING colour reference cards” can also be used. They can be obtained from the Global Branding Department, branding@ing.com. Please note that the printed colours can become discoloured over a number of years.
Please always endeavour to use the corporate colours consistent with the guidelines.
A printed version of this document on an office printer will not show the actual colour samples. Please always refer to the Pantone numbers or any of the other given colour system indication.
